Supermarket footfall 30% up vs pre-pandemic levels

The Grocer published footfall data that shows city centre convenience store footfall is down 20% vs pre-pandemic whilst supermarkets footfall is up 30% vs pre pandemic levels.

We believe this highlights a shift in operators focus toward omnichannel supermarkets, which are perfectly located to respond to changes in consumer behaviour, and why asset selection is key for investors to capitalise on future growth in the UK grocery property market.
