In the increasingly competitive space for same day delivery of UK grocery Just Eat have partnered with one of the UK’s leading retailers for their offering. Deliveroo has partnerships with Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Morrisons.
ASDA has already extended its one hour express delivery to 96 stores for customers living in a three mile radius of these locations. The nationwide store networks of the established grocery operators seem to be integral in meeting the customer demand for more instant fulfilment of orders.
ASDA recently closed two of its dark store warehouses for regular home delivery, with the omnichannel store network acting as more effective last mile distribution hubs.
